James writes - "When the original Hand of Fate dropped onto the Xbox One almost three years ago, it came out of nowhere. The intriguing concept of being an action-RPG/card game hybrid was enough to draw me in, and seemingly many others were drawn in too as its success has lead to a sequel. Even though Hand of Fate is a good game, theres plenty of room for improvement and Hand of Fate 2 hopes to build upon that. Have Defiant Development dealt us a better hand in Hand of Fate 2, or will we be hoping for a redraw?"

I dare say that the newest game of this ilk, at first glance, doesnt look like itll provide a turnaround for the genre. Looks can be deceiving though, and thats the hope as I tackle fast-paced arcade puzzler Raining Blobs, which seems to be inspired by the likes of the legendary Tetris. Could Raining Blobs possibly deliver an experience to rival such a classic, or is it merely a poor imitation?"

Full Metal Furies, a new "action RPG with a twist" from Rogue Legacy developer Cellar Door Games, has launched on Xbox One and PC.
The vaguely greek-mythology-themed Full Metal Furies is the first game to come from Cellar Door since its wonderful, Castlevania-esque procedurally generated platformer Rogue Legacy, which released all the way back in 2013.
